OVERVIEW

LSI training and training development specialists develop and implement blended learning solutions consisting of institutional training and training products and Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) products developed by multi-skilled IMI developers for several customers including the US Army Soldier Support Institute (SSI), the US Army Chaplain’s Center and School and the US Army Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE). Relevant training products are developed from current institutional courseware and training products that are Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant and conform to the US Army Training and Doctrine Command’s (TRADOC) collection of standards and specifications for Institutional and web-based e-Learning products.
 
IMI products consisting of more than 300 dL hours can be used on various mobile platforms: iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Android (tablets and phones) utilizing the PhoneGap Framework.
 
Using Instructional Systems Design (ISD)/ADDIE processes and technologies, LSI technologists evaluate media and product requirements to determine the most appropriate learning and design strategies and develop the most appropriate learning products that provide the appropriate training/learning solutions anytime, anywhere in the world.

Instructional Design and Instructor Support Services

LSI curriculum developers analyze, design, develop and implement relevant training and learning solutions using ISD/ADDIE processes for management, analysis, revision, and development of customer training courseware/POIs. Instructors, Small Group Leaders and highly qualified functional writer-developers use their professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of training and training development in order to design, develop, present, and evaluate individual and collective training/learning programs for our TRADOC customers. Courseware developers provide Schools and Staff and Faculty Development Programs curricula that remain current, relevant and timely. Personnel also serve as a focal point for resource information, evaluation and review of training materials and instructional technologies to develop training standards, guides, methods, and aids for assigned POIs.
 
IMI Training Solutions

LSI personnel develop dL Human Resources, Financial Management, Postal Operations, Master Fitness Trainer courseware in compliance with SCORM requirements and with the Connecting Soldiers to Digital Applications (CSDA) program guidelines. LSI technologists evaluate media and product requirements to determine the most appropriate graphic design strategy and determine the placement and appearance of visual and audio elements, and determine media requirements for Distributed Learning (dL) products using approved Government authoring tools and Learning Management System (LMS) to support worldwide blended learning solution. Selected IMI courseware solutions are described as follows:
 
Designed, developed and programmed mobile applications which run natively on both Android and iOS platforms. These applications utilize the PhoneGap build-system and an in-house framework in order to streamline development and maximize performance. These apps contain course content, calendars, learning games, and pre-assessments that report data directly to the SSI SharePoint system. The 8 total applications within the Android and Apple marketplaces have been downloaded more than 100,000 times.
